Discipleship Guide: Submitting to the Risen King
Living Under the Risen King: A Call to Kingdom Life
Have you ever stopped and asked yourself what changed when Jesus rose from the dead?
Easter is not just a moment to remember. It is an invitation to live under a new reality. Jesus did not rise just to prove a point. He rose as King.
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" (Matthew 28:18).
That is not a distant truth. That speaks into your life today.
The risen Jesus calls you to more than belief. He calls you to surrender. He invites you to step into a life where He leads and you follow.
This is where many hesitate.
You may hear the word “submit” and think of loss. Loss of control. Loss of freedom. Loss of choice. Yet the kingdom of God works in a different way.
When you submit to Jesus, you do not lose your life. You find it (Luke 9:23–24).
Think about Peter. He failed badly. He denied Jesus. Yet after the resurrection, everything changed. He surrendered to Jesus again. Then he stood with boldness and power. Thousands came to faith (Acts 2:41).
What happened?
Peter came under the authority of the risen King. And the Spirit of God filled him with power.
This is the life Jesus offers you.
A kingdom life is not built on effort. It is built on surrender. You stop trying to lead your own life. You let Jesus take His rightful place.
This affects everything.
How you think. How you respond. How you treat people. How you make decisions.
You begin to live by different values.
You forgive when it is hard (Colossians 3:13).
You give when it costs you (Acts 20:35).
You trust God when you cannot see the outcome (Proverbs 3:5–6).
And here is the key: you do not do this alone.
Jesus sends His Holy Spirit to live in you.
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you" (Acts 1:8).
This is not theory. This is real help for your daily life.
You can wake up aware of His presence.
You can hear His guidance.
You can receive strength when you feel weak.
This is what it means to live under the risen King.
Yet this life grows through daily surrender.
You choose His way over your own.
You listen and obey.
You bring every area under His authority.
So here is a question for you:
What part of your life are you still holding back?
Your time?
Your money?
A relationship?
A decision you keep delaying?
Jesus is not asking for part of your life. He is King over all.
And when you yield to Him, something shifts.
You begin to walk in His authority (Luke 10:19).
You begin to see change within you.
You begin to experience peace that does not depend on circumstances (John 14:27).
This is not about being perfect. It is about direction. Each step of surrender brings you deeper into the life you were made for.
