Bible Study: The Kingdom in the Light of the Resurrection
Living in the Power of the Risen Kingdom
Easter reminds you that Jesus did not stay in the grave. God raised Him from the dead and placed Him on the throne. The resurrection was not only a miracle in the past. It revealed that Jesus now reigns as King.
That truth shapes how you live today.
Many believers celebrate the resurrection each year. They remember the empty tomb. They thank God for forgiveness and new life. Yet many still struggle to see how the resurrection changes daily life. You may believe Jesus is alive, yet still live as though His kingdom feels distant.
Scripture shows something very different.
The resurrection announces that the kingdom of God has broken into this world through the risen Christ. Jesus now rules with authority. His power is present. His Spirit works through His people. The book of Acts shows what life looks like when believers live under the rule of the risen King.
This month’s Bible study series explores that reality.
The series is called “Living in the Power of the Risen Kingdom". Each study walks through a key passage of Scripture that reveals how the resurrection shapes the life of believers. These passages move from the moment Jesus is revealed as King to the bold witness of His followers who live under His rule.
You begin with the moment the early church first understood the meaning of the resurrection. Peter stood before the crowd and declared that God raised Jesus and placed Him at His right hand. The resurrection revealed His authority as Lord and Messiah. The throne belongs to Him.
Then you look at the message Jesus preached. He proclaimed good news to the poor, freedom for captives, and restoration for the broken. His kingdom brings real change into real lives. The resurrection confirms that this mission continues today.
Next, you explore the promise Jesus gave to His followers. The risen Lord told them to wait for the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit came, they would receive power to be His witnesses. The kingdom of God spreads through people who live in the strength the Spirit gives.
You then see what that power looks like in action. A man who could not walk received healing in the name of Jesus. The miracle pointed to the living authority of the risen Christ. The King still works through His people. His power still restores lives.
The final study looks at how believers respond when opposition rises. The early church prayed with confidence in God’s rule. They asked for boldness. The Spirit filled them again and they continued to speak with courage. Their confidence came from one truth: the King is alive and reigns.
Each study invites you to look carefully at Scripture. You will see what God reveals about Jesus. You will see what the passage shows about people. You will discover practical ways to follow Christ in the power of His kingdom.
Ask yourself a few honest questions as you begin.
Do you see Jesus as the risen King who rules today?
Do you expect the Holy Spirit to work through your life?
Do you believe the kingdom of God can touch the people around you?
These studies will help you move from knowing the resurrection story to living in the power of the risen Christ.
Take time each week to open the passage. Read it slowly. Listen for what the Spirit wants to show you. Pray over what you learn. Step out in faith as you follow Jesus.
The resurrection did not end with the empty tomb. It began a new way of life for everyone who belongs to Christ.
You are invited to live in that reality.
